WHAT OUR STUDENTS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES

A talk on Climate change and SDG's

It was pleasure and honour to be invited as chief guest to address young minds in the brilliant new initiative on Model United Nations (for Juniors) taken by their beloved leader Manila Ma’am (Principal of DPS East, Bangalore).

I had the opportunity to interact and address the students about the current status of our environment and give some insights into COP 28 , SDG’s and the criticality of controlling global temperature rise below 1.5 degree by 2030.

I gave them lots of reasons and facts to make them understand that how will 0.5 degree rise in temperature effect all of us and made them realise that the time has come that every citizen including students as stakeholders have to understand in depth about inter- dependency on nature and value of healthy environment. I explained about Rights to take versus duties and responsibilities to give back.

Hope the children of today become responsible citizens of tomorrow by taking up this challenge of balancing economic growth versus protection of environment. Their Understanding sustainable development and management of our natural resources today will help them in imparting their duties as gaurdians of Earth in a better way.

It remains to be seen on how well they negotiate with different countries and at the same time win confidence of over Billion people of our country.
