Winged Guests paradise called Bhigwan - Part 2

“Migration of food chains”
Different ecosystems co-exist, the biodiversity found in each are connected & inter dependent. From lakes to grasslands to scrub forests and plateaus.
It is a matter of pride and pleasure for all of us to welcome these winged guests from various corners of the world trying to survive another day or a season on their forward or return journey in such paradise called Bhigwan.
One group of migratory birds consists of large birds including ducks, flamingos, Gulls, Terns and local birds like Coots, Cormorants, Painted storks, Egrets, Herons etc.
Small water birds like, Avocets, Godwits, Stilts, Stints, Marsh sandpipers, also make the long treacherous journey.
Some grassland birds like yellow Wagtails (Himalayas & Europe) singing Bush Larks ( Australia), sandgrouses, Black headed Bunting (Eastern Europe, Coursers, Francolins, Pipits, Red Avadavets and other Munias join the party to enjoy greener pastures.
The masters of sky- Raptors (Eagles,Harriers, Osprey , Falcons) also follow the food chain as top predators.
I feel its our duty & collective responsibility to be good host and make these birds relax, take rest and enjoy our hospitality. As these are rare opportunities to witness the Beautiful wonders of nature and cherish these magical moments. So let’s appreciate the roles and contribution of all forms of life around us and pledge to protect our natural heritage.
