IUCN CEC GLOBAL STEERING COMMITTEE MEET- 9TH -11TH MARCH 2023 AT WILDERNEST RESORT- NORTH GOA
It was great pleasure and honour for me to attend the Global steering committee meet of IUCN commission of education and communication at the beautiful lush green resort called Wildernest in the dense jungles of north   Goa- Maharashtra border.
I would be always grateful to the Chairman of IUCN CEC Mr. Sean Southey and Vice chairman of India- Vasanti Madam for providing me this opportunity. Vice chairs & delegates from over 18 countries from Asia, US, Canada, Africa, Middle east, Europe were present in the three-day workshop.
The commission supports all the other 6 arms of IUCN in terms of planning, communicating and collaborating and we did lot of brainstorming sessions on new ideas, planning of activities and projects for IUCN CEC for the next few years.
Many regions presented their annual reports also during the workshop.
I also got an opportunity to showcase my works on School nature and wildlife education programs, Nature study camps and value of outdoor learning programs.
The three-day event was filled with fun based activities, games, team projects and cultural programs highlighting the traditions and cultures of local village communities.
Being an ardent nature lover, the place was perfect for birding and other biodiversity watching. I was fortunate to organize early morning and late nights every day for the guests. We saw very unique species of birds, insects in the area including yellow browed bulbul, Paradise Flycatcher, Russel’s Viper, Green vine tree snake.
